California is NOT mostly desert. Everything else you wrote, though, yup......and thank you for wishing the blessings of God on us.

I have got to get to Mississippi one of these days.
California is only about 25% desert, just like only 6250 of the 48430 square miles of Mississippi is Delta. Mississippi and California have their own unique problems but I can find something good in all places. You really should check us out, and I hope you find your own unique Mississippi. Welcome.

Anyway, I just wanna acknowledge the part I played and square things away so there won't be any bad vibes or negative energy lurking between us.
No worries! It's all good

I was calling the area “desert” based on the amount of rainfall.

There is plenty of water to go around here.

My thinking was about the average annual amount of rainfall also.

If you were born and raised in Mississippi and it's your home, it's hard to see other states as better in any way. Trust me, there's a reason Mississippi ranks near the bottom in nearly every category, and there's a reason the state has been stagnant for years. Mississippi is continuing to be left behind year after year.

I lived there for 4 years. After a certain length of time you get used to your lack of options, you get used to the brain drain on the state, you get used to the sublet racial overtones and general divide, and you get used to being around some of the most unhealthy people in the country. However, as quickly as I left there, I began to notice all the greater options, choices, and mixture of thoughts and people that exist outside of the state.

It's not so bad if you're used to it and don't know anything else.
