I said I'd be loath. But if it's becoming financially impossible to stay there, then do what you gotta do.

You'd probably be pleasantly surprised how much house you can buy in Missouri.

In theory, true. In practice, a lot of the money saved by living with mom & dad ends up being blown on cars, entertainment, etc. I see it with Millennials I work with.

The poverty claim for a 25 year old with an income of 60k and assets of 155K for a single person in the Bay Area is overly dramatic and annoying.: rolleyes:

I see a 3 bedroom rancher as perfectly adequate and 2000 square feet as a palace.

You would be living like a king with that in Missouri. 25, just being out of school for a couple years and have that much in assets. Cry me a river.

No, you can't buy a house in the area you want. That's life. Move to a place that lines up with your income, or quit whining.

I would LOVE to live in a penthouse in Manhattan. I can't buy that home, therefore I am poor.

All I ask for is a modest 2-3 bedroom, not a fancy penthouse. It's a poor comparison.

The fact is that the market in the Bay Area doesn't let you buy that for the amount of money you have. Make a decision on what you want to do. I don't know what else to tell you other than complaining about it on an internet forum isn't gonna help you purchase a house.

You certainly can afford a modest house in Missouri. I doubt you would like living there though based on your posting history.

After Trump was elected, Peter Kinder said he thought about getting a job in the Trump admin, but he said he looked at the cost of living in northern VA and DC and compared it to Missouri and decided to stay put in Missouri due to the affordability. Smart guy. He's an asset and glad he's staying in Missouri. Maybe he will run for attorney general if Josh Hawley decides to run for senate instead.
