Wow, it's really all gone? 40 years later and it's completely demolished. 'Happy' it no longer exists, as, the community was not a place fit for families.

Glad to hear there hasn't been an upsurge in violence. Keep me posted on Roger Williams PortCity--especially if anything significant happens over the next few ones. I'd appreciate it.

Yes, been to Bessemer as well--agreed. Night and day comparison in relation to RW or HH.

Aha, this confirms what I had heard from a former resident. Thanks, Port.

Roger Williams was in a total state of disrepair when I visited this summer. The property definitely needs to be revamped. Glad to hear it will be built on a simile model as Orange Grove. Keep me posted if they start doing demoing! lol I may fly down just to see it happen myself.

It wasn't 'found', all construction in the mid-twentieth century had asbestos, we all knew that as me went by and we learned it was poison. It only becomes an issue when buildings or homes are torn down or remodeled, and then they have to follow strict federal guidelines as how to handle it.

(one of the two reasons for the expense of renovating vintage buildings; the other being lead paint)
