This morning's Voices of Montana with Aaron Flint radio broadcast was about where was the longest bus ride to school in Montana.

A graduate student at UM was doing her video Masters' thesis on this subject, and was talking about two brothers with a 50 mile daily one-way, 500 mile a week, bus ride to Dillon High School.

Do you know of a longer daily one-way bus ride to school in Montana?

We have a couple of kids in Lincoln who ride out to Flesher Pass. Have another one who lives on the other side of Rogers Pass who rides the bus. Years back when the Lincoln School burned down, kids were bussed to Augusta. That's a haul

magoomafoo, can you estimate the one-way miles that the school bus traveled in the 3 examples you provided?

It's about 50 miles from Lincoln to Augusta.
About 12 miles to the stop on Flesher.
About 20 miles to the bottom of Rogers Pass.

This is one-way

After Apple School closed (this was a one-room schoolhouse a few miles NW of Carter), my cousins did about 60 miles each way, from their ranch out north of Carter all the way in to Great Falls. And that was for grade school!!
