Bridget is on a distinguished road
Default Yellowstone the second week in October

My daughter is on year round school and her first break is the week of Columbus Day. I was thinking we would drive from Salt Lake to Yellowstone and spend a couple of days up there but someone said there might be snow there that time of year. Does anyone here visit Yellowstone enough to tell me what it would be like that time of year. I expect that some of the souvenier shops and places to eat would be closed for the season but is it a ghost town by then? Is West Yellowstone the same? Any info you have would be great. Thanks!

Joe Doer will become famous soon enough
The high temp is about 60 degrees and the low about 25. It can go extreme in either direction.

The tourist crowd is gone and it slows down to a normal small town. As the crowd is gone, getting around the park is much easier too. Although it is cooler, that is great time to be here.

Have fun and welcome!!!

There will be plenty of snow in places by then and roads may be closed. I worked in the park 3 summers and we'd always get snow by August 15th somewhere.

You might inquire by googling Yellowstone National Park and send someone an email.
