I live in forsyth, mt i just moved here 6 months ago and was looking for a place to go kill some prairie dogs preferrably close by. I have been told to just walk up to peoples houses and introduce myself and ask if they minded if i kill theyre prairie dogs on theyre land but im not really that social of a person so just curious is there a public place or somethin like that.

I can tell you from first-hand experience that knocking on doors works. Some friends and I loaded up our gear here in Missouri and drove out to Wyoming without a single hunting connection. We just went to a couple of local business and got some leads. Then we talked to land owners and were almost always allowed to shoot all the prairie dogs that we wanted. I don't know if my experience is unique, but hopefully it will help you out.

My favorite recipe was a 40 grain V-Max smoking down the tube at about 3,900 fps. Usually flipped them once and they were juuuuuust right.
