, Fire Weather Watch In Effect From Sunday Afternoon Through Sunday Evening For Portions Of South Central Montana, All Of Southeast Montana, Portions Of Northwest South Dakota And North Central Wyoming For Hot Temperatures, Low Humidities And Gusty Winds, Followed By A Wind Shift With A Strong Cold Front,

The National Weather Service In Billings Has Issued A Fire Weather Watch, Which Is In Effect From Sunday Afternoon Through Sunday Evening.

The Fire Weather Watch Includes The Following Fire Weather Zones: In Montana, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132 , 133 In Wyoming, 274, 284

Expect Temperatures In The 90s, Humidities In The Teens And Southerly Wind Gusts Of 15 To 25 Mph On Sunday. In Addition, Some Thunderstorms Are Expected, And These Storms Will Likely Produce Little Rainfall Along With Erratic Wind Gusts. A Cold Front Will Then Push West To East Across The District Sunday Night. Although The Exact Timing Of This Front Is Still In Question, It Is Expected To Bring An Abrupt Wind Shift To Gusty Northwest Winds As It Passes. The Combination Of All Of These Factors Will Result In Dangerous Fire Weather Conditions Sunday Into Sunday Night.

A Fire Weather Watch Means That Critical Fire Weather Conditions Are Forecast To Occur. Those With Fire Weather Interests Should Monitor Future Forecasts And Statements From The National Weather Service.

The Red Flag Warning Includes The Following Fire Weather Zones: In Montana, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133 In Wyoming, 274

Humidities Will Fall Into The Teens Across The Area Once Again This Afternoon. West To Southwest Winds Will Increase This Afternoon As The Atmosphere Mixes Out. A Cold Front Will Push Into The Area By Late Afternoon And Produce A Strong Wind Shift To The Northwest. Northwest Winds Will Remain Strong And Gusty Behind The Front For Several Hours. Humidities Will Be Slow To Recover But Should Rise Into The 20s Several Hours After Frontal Passage.

Teens Will Be Over The Area Tuesday Afternoon And Evening.
Southwest Winds Of 15 To 30 Mph Will Combine With The Hot And Dry
Conditions And Result In A Increase For Potential Rapid Fire
Growth. The Gusty Winds Will Decrease By Tuesday Evening With
Relative Humidities Recovering Overnight.
