I'll bet it was those liberals from California who invented the thongs... I think gals in Montana should have the option of wearing fleece lined thongs, our winters get pretty cold this far north.

Native Montanans don't hate outsiders. Understand that we are very used to people coming from the East and West coasts thinking they can handle Montana. They don't realize the extremes and harsh conditions we can live in. There is a tendency for outsiders to stay one...maybe two winters and then head for more accommodating climates. If you stick out two winters, we will consider calling you friends. We won't get too close until then...because many people pass through our lives. Because of how rural we are...friends are family...and we rely on each other for everything...including our lives. So we have to trust before we call someone a friend. However, if you are some Hollywood something or other buying up our precious land, barring people from enjoying it with fences, and driving up land prices...yeah...we may not take too kindly to you. The beauty of Montana is people are very real and very raw...we care about who people are as individuals...not what some movie, record deal, etc has made you. That means nothing to us.
