I've lived all over, currently I'm stuck in Michigan, but will get out of here with enough hard work and good luck.

I've been moving around the country for a few years now, tend to bring my own housing with me. I have extensive experience in small arms, bullet casting, handloading, ammunition production for sportsment and law enforcement, and tend to be independent and self-sufficient.

Right now I'm engineering my escape from here as best I can and looking around for a better place to be. Places I'm looking at are Montana, Alaska, Wyoming, W. Virginia, Vermont, and Maine.

Have big honkin 4x4 Cummins TurboDiesel pickup, 5th wheel trailer, am armed to the tonsils, have big wolfy lookin dog, but also very friendly and love good salt-o-the-earth country folk.

I really need to live away from population, in a small and interdependent community where people look after each other and do for each other, without tolerating scum. That's the kind of community I can really give something to and become part of.

What's the arms/ammo market like there? How's the hunting/fishing?

Don't even mess around with the small stuff - go for the gold - ALASKA, it's the real deal if you really wanna get away from it all.

Agree. Alaska is the place for you. I lived there for 20 years. Girdwood, Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, Fairbanks (if you can stand the extreme weather), Talkeetna. Anchorage is a great city, but it's a city. Pretty civilized.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Vermont. My husband and I both grew up here and are seeking our escape to someplace less...urm...socialist. It's getting pretty crowded here with second homes. Unless you check out the northeast kingdom...I don't know much about that area of the state. I would love to know where you settle on. And love to your wolfie looking dog.
