What is the best route to get from downtown Pacific Grove to downtown Salinas?
And what is the approximate driving time (assuming I leave PG at app 7:00 a.m. on a weekday morning)?
Thanks so much in advance to anyone who can help.

Well, there are really only two routes. Hwy 68 or Hwy 1 > Reservation. I drive Hwy 1 in the AM and its opposite the flow of traffic. So I would definitely try that one out. Drive them both and then compare times. Also depending where in PG you start from going up 86 to Hwy 1 may be faster than taking Lighthouse through Monterey.

My best guess would be Hwy 68 to Salinas would be fastest most of the time. Roughly 30-40 minutes.

Sorry, I meant going up '68' to Hwy 1 from PG may be faster than taking Lighthouse. When I lived in PG I would take either depending on the time of day. Lighthouse just seems longer and 'slower' though not as windy going up the hill behind Chomp.
