The main rail trail through the town is flat and pretty (especially Star City in either direction) and you can park right next to it down at the waterfront area and over in star city (down behind the Sheetz)

Thank you! I will look for it possibly today, it's a sunshiney day. I'll let you know how it works out. I'm coming in from Uniontown, and I love traveling to Morgantown. I do it often.

You can park right by the trail at Van Voorhis also. The cheat lake trail is beautiful, and You can park next to it also.

I did go on Sunday, it was a pretty day for the most part. I saw lots of bikers. I felt a little lost since I don't know my way too well but did get down to the water and parked there. However, I really couldn't walk too much since I am so handicapped (knees don't work well, but I can walk, however always worried about tripping). Thanks anyway for the suggestion, at least I looked. On the way back I saw the dog park, I drove into the park, lots of people enjoying the sun. The parking lot was pretty full. Thank you for the suggestion, though. I'm thinking to go on route 19 I think it is, behind the Aldi's? There is water there, wondering if I can get down to the walking path easily enough. I'll let you know, thanks again.

Thank you. I think I went there, not sure. I did drive down Van Voorhis road when I went on Sunday (behind Sheetz). There was an apartment complex all the way in the back near the bike trail. Many bikers were out and some people were sitting at tables enjoying the view. I even took pictures but didn't stay long.
I may go behind Aldi's tomorrow on Route 19 and see if I can get down there. I usually don't take a walker, but I have one in the car just in case. Also, I'm wondering about Decker's Creek. What do you think about that park? I don't know if it's pretty and if I can navigate it walking. But I can look. :-)

I have another question about the rail trail near the old Aldi's on Don Knott's Blvd. I went there to look but I don't see access to the trail. Oh well. Ok, yes I do. But no parking because the sign says they'll tow me away. And there is a paved ramp alongside the stairs that I think I can handle. I hope so.

Careful up on that end of the trail. Lots of needles and vagrants on that end. People living under the bridge that crosses Cobun Ck. People taking ***** baths at the water tap at the gazebo near MUB.

There's a park on the south side of the Jeep dealership (between the dealership and BFS) that you can get down to the rail trail

Wow, thanks for warning! I actually went again today behind Sargasso's and was by myself although there were bikers, and got a little nervous thinking someone could come out from the bushes and assault me. So I'm glad you told me that! I didn't get near the bridge, I was behind Sargasso's, it was so pretty, but I do figure the water is dirty. Anyway, thanks again. (I'm not happy about it, but better be safe than sorry.)

I'll certainly look. But now that I've been warned about vagrants, I'm thinking maybe I better not go. Which is a shame, because the walk was comfortable and beautiful. (sigh.) Almost like Prospect Park in Brooklyn, which is where we came from originally. A beautiful park. But as time went on, it became dangerous.
