What a surprise when I received notification that I had won the French lottery, thanks to my friend who renewed my ticket annually. I had won enough money to return to now peaceful France and live in style. However, I decided to remain in the village and spent the money instead on a grand meal for the locals, just like I had prepared when I was a renowned chef in Paris.
No you didn't...that was Babette's Feast (love that movie).

I was speeding along on my vespa to my new friends wedding...trouble is we had had a fight and I wasn't really invited anymore, but was going anyway. Then I get a call from his fiancee telling me to come. I got there just before the vows, I made up with my friend at the alter. Later during the reception we played Rush on guitars.

No you didn't--that was I Love You, Man.

I got drunk and challenged an angry cowboy to a spelling contest.

No you didn't, that was Tombstone (had to google so..)

A big storm hurled a window screen into my head and I passed out. I had the strangest dream. The people in it were people I knew but they were all dressed different and all sorts of strange things happened. At least my dog was the same.

Maybe we should get a moderator to change the name of the thread for more interest?

I wonder if this thread doesn't have enough interest. I look forward to it but I have not been able to identify several of the clue stories here. I don't Google, because for me that takes away the fun.

I like this puzzle thread. So many of the "games" in the Entertainment Forum seem to consist of mindlessly posting a YouTube vid that is different from the one posted previously I like games that require a little gray matter thought

Where are the movie people?

I kept trying to revive this thread and was surprised at the apparent lack of interest. I gave up.

No, you didn't. That was The Wizard of Oz!

(I didn't want to hog the answers. I've already answered a couple.)

I hid some money in an old tin box and buried it near a wall in the middle of nowhere for my friend to find.

No you didn't that was Shawshank Redemption.

When I was in college some jocks were giving us a hard time. So in revenge, we assualted them by putting liquid heat in their jock straps, conducted illegal surveillance and violated Peeping Tom laws by filming their naked girlfriends and I topped it off by raping the head blonde chick while wearing a Darth Vader mask.

No, you didn't. That was Revenge of the Nerds. (And it sounds a lot less fun when you describe it!)

I teamed up with a well-meaning ditz to look for my missing son.
