China girl? Sort of Romeo and Juliet story. He was an Italian guy from little Italy new York and she was a Chinese girl from Chinatown. Her brother was In the triads and forbid her to see him cause his family was in the Italian mob. Two sides didn't get along.
A friend said maybe Fire With Fire, but I will have to look that one up.
That was actually my guess. He was a "bad boy" in some type of reform or boarding school. The girl was Virginia Madsen, and she was in the neighboring school, maybe Catholic school. I think they met at a school dance. At the end, they met up at some type of cabin and everyone was looking for them, like with helicopters.

Definitely a lesser known movie.
Back when Virginia Madsen was hoT (with a capital T).
Since it is not a well known flick, you really ought to share more details as what you have given was really too vague to be helpful. Do you remember what city/state/coast it was taken place in? Names of any of the characters? Anything unique or memorable with the characters or places?
Kind sounded like Grease actually or Outsiders but neither is remotely unknown!
Do you remember what the setting was? Like in the 50s?
I have a feeling I know what movie you're asking about but I'm racking my brain as well.
