I am stoked to see this. Films like this garner laughs from not only the prank, But the reaction of the people in public. Irving Zisman has always been outrageous and funny and it sounds like this film works well. Not easy and even Jeff Tremamine and Johnny Knoxville were challenged according to interviews in trying to create a whole film around Irving. Sounds like they succeeded.

I just got back from it and I practically puked I laughed so hard. People were standing up in the seats doubled over in some scenes. It was everything you'd hope a Knoxville movie would be and the people who come out not laughing went in thinking it was going to be a high end hardy har har comedy. It was perfect.

It did top Gravity this weekend, taking in $32M, with much more to come. The critics call it light-hearted and that's okay with me. I was disappointed in the various "coming attractions" in that all of them were violent ghastly dark apocalyptic horror or sci-fi flicks. Hell, with what we got for a government these days, we got enough apocalyptic darkness, gimme a pot full of laughs.

I thought it could have been better...the little skits they did in the Jackass movies were way better than the whole Grandpa movie combined

I liked it as much or more than the other jackass movies because of the story built in and the happy ending. Was laughing quite a bit too. Good combination of storytelling and humor.. though some might not like the type of humor it works for me.
