I love films which are shot(and obviously set) in small towns. I love the feel of the place. Makes me want to settle there even though it will get boring really fast.

Get my point?
Example Dante's Peak.
The film was shot in this small town called Wallace in Idaho.

Or Roxanne(Steve Martin) was shot in this beautiful town in British Columbia called Nelson.

A very suburban laidback feel.

Can you list any more films-preferably from the 70s to the mid 90s. Films shot in small towns/

Thanks

Empire Falls was shot at several towns in Maine: Islesboro, Waterville, and Skowhegan.

The Spitfire Grill was filmed in Peacham and St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Groundhog Day, though set in Pennsylvania, was actually filmed in Woodstock, Illinois.

Fandango (a great movie from 1985 that far too few people have seen) was filmed in several small towns throughout Texas.

Red Dawn (the original '80s version; cheesey but wonderful) was filmed in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Angus was filmed in Stillwater and Owatonna, Minnesota.

Grumpy Old Men was shot in several small towns in Minnesota.

That's it. I'm tapped out.

One of my all-time favorites--Miss Firecracker. It was filmed in Yazoo City, Mississippi.

A really boneheaded decision since the entire story is set in Ft. Smith AR and eastern OK. Would have been ok if they had not used Rocky Mountain vistas throughout the movie.
The remake was done mostly in New Mexico but they didn't use shots that were overtly incongruent with AR/OK terrain so it worked.
