I love films which are shot(and obviously set) in small towns. I love the feel of the place. Makes me want to settle there even though it will get boring really fast.
Get my point?
Example Dante's Peak.
The film was shot in this small town called Wallace in Idaho.
A really boneheaded decision since the entire story is set in Ft. Smith AR and eastern OK. Would have been ok if they had not used Rocky Mountain vistas throughout the movie.
The remake was done mostly in New Mexico but they didn't use shots that were overtly incongruent with AR/OK terrain so it worked.
