For me, it was a toss-up between It could happen to you & the Natural. I chose The Natural because it's Buffalo.

But I still love the quote from It could happen to you...

Quote:
Charlie: I could be a Buffalo cop
Yvonne: and I could be a Buffalo waitress.
Manna from heaven, having a Buffalo base too, I liked.... but I'll always pick Robert Redford first.

Note: yes, I have all four movies on DVD.

I voted "Other".

Okay, it's going to sound funny, but "Home Alone 2". No, the film wasn't a cinematic masterpiece. It was your standard entertaining popcorn fluff. However, I felt that film, showing New York at Christmastime sold New York remarkably well. The Plaza, Central Park, Lincoln Center, the view from the Brooklyn Bridge, Rockefeller Center, beautiful brownstones on the Upper East Side, etc. It was also at a time period when New York was having a bit of an image problem, in the midst of the crack epidemic with out of control crime. For me though, once I saw that movie, I just couldn't get New York out of my head and had to come.

The recent Across the Universe had some interesting New York scenes, in the city and more rural spots.
I didn't even think I was going to like that movie all that much, but I did, and it definitely gave off a nice wow-I-am-young-and-single-in-1960s-NYC vibe.

But I really liked It Could Happen To You, too.

dullnboring, I'll agree with the showcasing of New York City in Home Alone 2 (even though I have lived in NYS all my live, I've never been to NYC )

I was a little disappointed that Jim Carrey didn't come to Buffalo during the filming snips in Bruce Almighty.

cil, that sounds like an interesting movie. I'll have to see about renting it and let you know what I think
