The Prisoner of Second Avenue with Jack Lemmon & Anne Bancroft - classic!

The Seven Year Itch with Marilyn Monroe - another classic!

Coming to America and Ghostbusters - younger classics

Also like some of the ones already mentioned - The Warriors and Once Upon a Time in America get my vote too!

Was the movie Fisher King also set in NY? I loved that one.

And that is the answer. We all have different opinions and the OP provided us all with an opportunity to add our favourites.

There are so many movies, it's hard to pick one. Just off the top of my head, I can think of other good to great movies set in New York, Like, "When Harry Met Sally," "Annie Hall," "Taxi Driver," "A Bronx Tale", "Donnie Brasco," "French Connection."

I'd probably go with "Taxi Driver."

I'll add a few more I remembered last night:

In America
Maid in Manhattan
Ghost
3 Men and a Baby
After Hours (what an ensemble cast!)

Come to think of it, quite a few movies have been centered around New York!

I hope everyone ready knows that this isn't a poll or conversation about movies filmed in or around the NYC area, there were plenty of classics done in the Buffalo area as well, Best Friends & Hide in plain sight were two good ones as well.

Yes, your reminder is probably needed.
People see "New York" and think only of the city.
I got another one--a really good one IMHO.

Parts of Miracle were filmed in Lake Placid during the 1980 winter Olympics. It's one of the best "sports movies" ever made.

Annie hall, manhattan (can you tell I am woody allen fan) and warriors.

Don't like scorcese much, since his stuff is mostly too violent for me.
