There are so many movies, it's hard to pick one. Just off the top of my head, I can think of other good to great movies set in New York, Like, "When Harry Met Sally," "Annie Hall," "Taxi Driver," "A Bronx Tale", "Donnie Brasco," "French Connection."
I hope everyone ready knows that this isn't a poll or conversation about movies filmed in or around the NYC area, there were plenty of classics done in the Buffalo area as well, Best Friends & Hide in plain sight were two good ones as well.
Too many to list. How about A Bronx Tale, West Side Story, The Pope Of Greenwich Village, Serpico, On The Waterfront, Wait Until Dark, The Odd Couple, The Producers, The Naked City, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, Panic In Needle Park, Seven Ups, Taking Of Pelham 1,2,3, Arthur, Fort Apache The Bronx, Crossing Delancy. It just keeps on going
