Not sure it fits the 'shoot em up' theme that is running here but one of the sweetest that comes immediately to mind is Billy Wilder's Stalag 17 - William Holden as POW getting his revenge

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was technically a revenge movie. I'd explain it but it is a major spoiler to the movie.

BTW, i'm glad nobody has mentioned one of Tarantino's recent films thus far -- saw one of them and hated it thoroughly.
