You can have a Learner's Permit, but within 80 hours of movie-watching time, you have to have seen THE GODFATHER at least once, from beginning to end. There will be a test afterward.

That sounds like an offer he can't refuse.

There is no Part 3. That is a foul rumor. You can ignore it.

But you have to see 1 and 2. Easily two of the finest American movies ever made. Flawless masterpieces.

I know. It's one of those movies that I have seen so many bits and pieces of that I kind of feel like I've seen most of it. And most of what I've seen hasn't filled me with eager anticipation to see the whole thing. What bits I have seen were chuckle-worthy but not hilarious.

If you watch This is Spinal Tap and don't think it's hilarious, you don't have a pulse!

1. The Godfather - Just finally watched it about a year ago. Watched part 2 about 6 weeks ago. Such long movies I wanted to watch it in one sitting so getting the time was a little challenging.

2. Casablanca - Have not seen it.

3. Taxi Driver - Watched it. Was not as good as I was expecting, but still a very decent movie.

4. 2001: A Space Odyssey - Have not seen it. Of the 4 on the list that I haven't seen, probably the one that has the best chance of me actually watching it at some point.

5. Reservoir Dogs - Very good. Own the DVD and have watched this multiple times.

6. This Is Spinal Tap - Have not seen this. Very limited interest in seeing it.

7. Apocalypse Now - Finally watched this one about 5 years ago. Pretty odd. Very good in some parts not so good in others.

8. Goodfellas - Very good. Seen this about three times.

9. Blade Runner - Never even been interested in seeing this one, probably never will.

10. The Great Escape - Very good, own the DVD. McQueen is great as usual.
