Max von Sydow has NEVER been bad.

Even when he is in a bad movie, he is awesome in the bad movie.

Leonardo Di Caprio is my number 1.
I think that he is a highly overrated actor who happens to act in great movies.
Also, Denzel Washington shoots only quality films (except for the book of Eli maybe)

Peter Sarsgaard
Edward Norton
Philip Seymour Hoffman

Originally, I had Paul Giamatti on this list, but I forgot about "Lady in the Water" which was horrid.

I'm sure there are others, but there are also many phenomenal actors who have made at least one terrible movie.

I expect anything with John Cusack to be good.

The best strike rate for any actor I know of belonged to John Cazale. In his short career he appeared in just 5 films, but all of them were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. At least three of them are widely considered to be serious contenders for the title of "greatest film ever made".

Wow.
So many people mentioned here are on my 'most hated actor' list.

I think Cary Grant is my pick...
