As best as I can recall, I remember The Departed as being far, far, more interestingly complex.

OP,

Have you seen Korean's recent movie, "The New World"? Word is that US is going to remake that movie soon. Can't wait to see the remake version. I really enjoy the Korean movie.

When you get a chance, watch it. It's also about an undercover cop in the mob. Very good movie.

Just watched The Departed. It is on Netflix until Oct. 1st. Figured it had to be something with Scorcese, Nicholson, DiCaprio, Damon, Wahlberg. and others. Not a big cop movie fan but this movie pleased me. So much suspense I was grinning from time to time.

Seems like there have been several movies with a similar line or flow though.

Damon playing the bad guy seems a bit unique. Again, I'm just a movie buff - not a movie expert by any means. Nicholson seems born to play the bad guy. He can even contort his face to look like a rat - pretty impressive.

The Departed is an excellent movie. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/departed
