Many didn't seem to like M Night's last movie "The Visit," but I liked it a lot and was one of my favorite movies of the year (so he 'redeemed' himself to me).

Now I saw the trailer for his new movie being released in January 2017.

It's got James McAvoy in it so definitely a must see for me. An intriguing movie, though it seems like yet another run of the mill "hostages trapped in creepy environment" thriller. I'm sure M Night will have more tricks up his sleeve for this one.

That's what most people do about 1/2 hour into one of his movies...

LOL!!!!

He has apparently turned it around with the Visit that was well received. It was overdue after stinkers like The Lady in the Water, Last Airbender, and especially After Earth.

James McAvoy is great and a good choice for a lead.

The Visit was well received?? Hardly: 6.2 IMDb rating and 52% Rotten Tomatoes audience score.

Critics said some good things about it, and compared to the cheesy junk he put out it was a win for him. Over 50% is still "fresh." Also take into consideration that horror films usually bomb at the box office.

Im rooting for Mr. Night!

Shyamalan has a lot of talent as a filmmaker. But he can't seem to cover his Achilles heel. He still seems convinced that every one of his movies has to have a "twist" ending. The problem is that he's done it so many times that we've come to expect it, so you can now see his twist coming after about 15 minutes of the movies. The twist of The Village you could figure out just from watching the trailer.

Just about every movie of his seems to have a decent idea and story but somehow falls flat to me. This one seems a little interesting, the multi personalities/psychological thing but I'm expecting it won't live up to anything great and I'm not overly excited about the hostage/captive part. The visit had some promise, liked the storyline enough and imagery was nice. Dialogue fell short as did the ending, like with his films there's always a big twist so you can start guessing what it may be. I'll probably watch it but not at the theater.

Karlsch, actually a 6.2 on IMDb is somewhat well recieved IMO. Many fall into this average rating.. For him I consider that good.

Falls flat? ^^^^ Because his movies are so ruthlessly boring?
