JOKER I quite liked. I'm not one of those calling it the best movie of the year or the best comic book movie ever made. It isn't either of those things. But it is a good movie. Yeah, it's a total rip-off of '70s Scorsese movies. Who cares? If you're gonna steal, at least steal from the best.
Critics are calling Joker one of 2019's worst movies? That's interesting since it's been nominated for numerous awards.

I think The Joker was very "love it or hate it." I haven’t seen it myself, so I can’t comment. I will say that I don’t really want to see it.

I just saw Ad Astra a couple of weeks ago on DVD. I didn’t like it, but my husband did. I think they’re been too many "lost in space" type movies the last few years. I would consider this to be the worst movie of 2019, but it wasn’t completely awful.

I saw Cats in theatre. I like the musical, so I was familiar with the plot and music. It had such a great cast, but I think the animation was horrifying.

If you like '70s era Scorsese movies (TAXI DRIVER, MEAN STREETS) you might like JOKER. If you don't like those movies, then there's very little chance you'll like JOKER.

........
Although the Joker is a character from a comic book, the movie isn't a comic book movie at all. It is about a severely mentally ill man who can't separate fantasy from reality. I watched it and liked it.

I didn't see Cats. I usually avoid the worst films because I read the reviews and avoid the dogs that get less than 40% on RT. Once in a while I like a 30% RT film though:
The Chronicles of Riddick 29%. 65% audience score though.

Joker was one of the top 3 movies of the year for me. Struggle to see how anyone could think its the worst or even anywhere near it unless they’re crazier than Arthur Fleck himself.

I probably didn’t see the worst movie of the year because I try to avoid paying to see movies that dont look good to me. The most forgettable movie I actually watched was likely “The Kid”. It wasnt a terrible movie but not very memorable by any means.

Have you seen The King of Comedy? Joker is nothing but a pale imitation with some implausible comic book plot idiocy thrown in.

My nomination for worst film of 2019 is 'Rambo: Last Blood'. It's gratuitously violent, logic-defying, racist, and xenophobic.

David Morrell, the author who created the John Rambo character, tweeted that he was embarrassed to have his name associated with this film.
