Is this PC culture run amok? It's not even the best superhero pic of the year! Deadpool 2 should have swept the Oscars.

lol I'm black and the movie was easily average and forgettable. Seems like it was a ripoff of The Lion King mixed with a typical Marvel movie. I really don't get this one cause Avengers Infiniti War was much much better, if I had to choose between the two.

I too feel like this was only nominated cause of the PC culture BS.

OP, you've lost credibility by asserting Deadpool 2.

Anyhow, this is just a nomination. I think the cultural implications are enough to warrant that. Will it win? Probably not.

But what about the other movies? Are they PC? We have Mexicans, gays, women, and evil Republicans. Why only point out the predominantly Black movie?

I am not surprised that a mediocre comic book movie is nominated. It's a true tale of our times... I remember when the Oscars held some type of weight.

You lose all credibility by dissing Deadpool! A way better film with a mostly black cast was "Sorry to Bother You. " That's one of my top films of the year.

Aquaman didn't get a VFX nom. Watch it, then review this clip of a film that does have a nomination. Tell me those graphics aren't comparable to a PS2 game.

Black Panther didn't get a VFX nom either.

Moonlight won and it was easily a worse film than Black Panther.

I thought both Black Panther and Infinity War each got a nom.

Ah, it's Christopher Robin (wtf) that got the other one. Even less worthy. Ready Player One also got one. That movie looks like crap.

Black Panther did get a Production Design nom, another one that Aquaman didn't. Something's afoot.
