Honestly, I think The Birds is the movie that has had THE most profound effect on me in my life. One or two birds are OK but a flock of them and I will LOOSE it !! I mean run and hide, shreaking like a baby.

My husband just got attacked by a mocking bird he was mocking!! Scratched him twice, it did! Brought back memories of that movie and also the short time I actually lived in Bodega Bay, California in 1985.

The Shining for sure.
It was the first scary movie I watched alone in the near dark.
Needless to say, I couldn't sleep a wink that night.

OK, Don't laugh... too hard.

The Wizard of Oz!!! Those darn flying monkeys and that music STILL give me goose pimples to this day, and my family thinks it is the funniest thing ever.

Moby Dick (1956) My dad took me to see this when we were at the beach. The scene that sticks in my head to this day is where Queequeg is preparing his own coffin, based on what he had seen by casting his fortune telling bones.

This one scared the heck out of me. I was about the same age as the kid in the film. I saw this at home on the old extra b&w TV we kept in the attic. I was allowed to stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights, when scary movies were popularly shown.
