I keep forgetting to post this! Another song I've loved since I was a kid and it was still new. Sheer genius. A good example of how music is about so much more than lyrics. I don't care what this song is "about," the music is just gorgeous. The vocal attack is so soft and so firm at the same time. How is that done?
(I would prefer a copy of just Superwoman though. I don't even remember hearing the "Where Were You?" part on the radio back in the 70s and I wonder if there is a radio edit of just Superwoman floating around somewhere.)
I just remembered my 5th grade elementary school teacher (the only black teacher in the school) bringing Songs in the Key of Life to class and playing some of it for us. Happier times.
