Okay, so you can buy singular songs now, but let's step back in time to that fresh smell of vinyl as it's being pulled from it's sleeve and the anticipation of hearing it with real speakers. Or the crisp and clean case to a cassette case opening....

You bought that Album or CD because there was a song or two you thought were great...but hold on a minute, where did this gem come from? The song on the album that came as a pleasant surprise never played on the radio or other outlets.

What are some of the albums and that one song you found as a hidden gem.

I'll start you off with one of my favorites.

Robert Plant, Fate of Nations, Song: Greatest Gift

Several (older) Elton John songs:

Elton John Album (1970);
Take Me To The Pilot
Sixty Year On
The Greatest Discovery

Almost every song on Carol King's "Tapestry" and on Let It Bleed by the Rolling Stones (which
many which were seldom heard, other by fans, are in movies and commercials-- at least since
the 90's)

"Old Man" by Neil Young's Harvest

There's probably at least one hidden gem on each of the 500 albums I own. Nevermind the 700 CDs.

Here's one, "A Poem from an Underground Wall" from Simon and Garfunkel's "Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme" LP:

And "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" from Honky Chateau.

All right, I'm off to dig out some old Elton John records! brb ...

There's tons of stuff from the 90's & 00's I can think of.

Maggie Dream 1990. One great album then they broke up.

Audiovent - Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris 02' Another one and done. The Jason Boyd the lead singer is brother with Brandon Boyd the lead singer in Incubus.

One of the most overlooked bands The Call. All their albums are gems.
