I thought about this last night at work.

I started listening to classic rock about 1977, Q 104 out of Albany, NY was awesome.....

From the time I started listening until around 1985 they were always introducing new bands and new albums

around 85 that all stopped and the just played the old stuff.

So my question is what if the Classic rock stations never stopped playing the new stuff, what would we hear in between the Who and Led Zepplin ?

anything past 1985

Here's one band you'd definately hear:

Gov't Mule

The Black Crowes come to mind. I also think they have maybe started calling Pearl Jam and Guns n Roses classic rock as well.

Are there still true classic rock stations around anymore? That line is pretty much blurred now I think.

This is a self described New Classic Rock Band

YouTube - Creeping Weeds - Light in the Window

I think this might be a new classic rock band

YouTube - Velvet Revolver: Slither

These are songs and bands that came onto the scene in the 1990´s and early 2000´s, and will some day be able to be listed as true classic rock.
