Paul Simon - The Late Great Johnny Ace - YouTube

Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (Original Single Version) NDW - YouTube

Enigma - Callas Went Away - YouTube

Johnny Ace was a real guy, an R&B singer, and I'm pretty sure "Callas Went Away" is at least referencing opera singer Maria Callas. I might have thought "Amadeus" had been done, but I didn't find it or the other two. (These songs are admittedly very different in tone. From somewhat folk-rock to 80s Euro-rocking to a meditative/New-Agey song)

Levon is Levon Helm of The Band (Up on Cripple Creek, The Weight). Helm was the co-founder, drummer and singer of The Band a group Bernie Taupin and Elton John liked in those days as a favorite. Elton John and his partner David Furnish even named their son Zachary Jackson Levon
