It happened again, I was listening to public radio (I think) and I heard a song that sounded like black American R&B w/ Irish violin music. The lyrics were something like:
"Let me be that guy."

I loved it, but the station didn't name the artist, and I can't find the album on Amazon.

Can anyone help?

This is all I could find with "Let Me Be That Guy" in it.

i can swear you wanted me
to open up that broken heart
just let me be that guy
just give me one good try
if you want then i'll be right here waiting
open up your eyes
and if you change your mind
then i'll be right here waiting

If you type, "Let me be the one" in your browser a ton of songs pop up.

Let me be that guy
That you've been waiting for
My Baaaaaaaaaaaby
I'll try and try and try
To give you so much more
Than you've ever had before
Just as long as you're with me
