Been to a few shows, here's a few of the memorable ones:
1. Led Zeppelin- 1973 "Houses Of The Holy Tour"-Played 3 hrs. Full blast energy, start to finish.
2. Rolling Stones-1972 Tour- Played 2 hrs. 45 minutes. Stevie Wonder was the warm up act.
3. CSNY, 1974 Tour- First act Jesse Colin Young, played 45 minutes, second act Beach Boys, played over an hour, CSNY 3 hrs.
4. Pink Floyd- 1975 Tour- played three and a half hours
5. Bob Dylan/Band- 1974 Tour- played for three hours.
6. Who- 1971 tour, played two and a half hours
The best performance I've ever seen was Pearl Jam and Lollapalooza in 1992 (the second year) at Harriet Island in St. Paul. While I was never all that into their music, they do go all the way to put on a show.
But overall, the best concert was U2 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison 1992. A sellout of 64,000, and myself and my three friends had the four seats in the center of the very front row. My friend Joe brought and Irish flag to the show, and during Sunday Bloody Sunday Bono beckoned for it. As I was closest to him, I handed it up and he wore it like a blindfold for the rest of the show. I would have preferred to have seen U2 in what I consider their prime (~1983 thru ~1988) but it was still pretty cool, and they do have a lot of showmanship. And it's hard to beat having better seats than the other 63,996 people in the crowd ...
Foo Fighters 2011 at the Pepsi Center... 3 hour show.
Deep Purple Perfect Strangers tour at Big Mac... at least a 2.5 hour show
Stones, Heart, George Thoroughgood 1981 at Folsom Field
Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan 1986 RFK
NEIL Young with Gin Blossoms 1996 Fidlers Green
Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, ZZTop and AC√DC twice
Zac Brown World Arena
Ronnie James Dio... but Aerosmith sucked, Pueblo Rodeo Grounds about 1983
38 Special with Eddie Money and Robert Cray, also in Pueblo at roedo grounds
Eric Clapton with Phil Collins on drums about 1996 Big Mac
The Kinks at Red Rocks... Joan Jet warmed up... until ahe got booed off the stage =)
