Default Old School 80s Metal

You are all correct! Come check out Metalheadzgear.com and take some polls about best metal, read some links to Yahoo Music's Top 25 Metal OpEd... Create a log in on the home page and I will approve you. I have a couple of cool blogs I'd love you to join in!!!!!!!!!!!! PS. FASTER ***** CAT ruled, Motley were kings! I just saw Cruesfest live, and online, they still are! Poison rocked, Cinderella kicked out some overdriven blues, RATT was an MTV staple from Round N Round on, and I could go on about the good, the bad and the ugly of old school 80s METALLLLLLL!

Ha! I missed part of this thread.

So, 6/3...Jake E Lee? I'm gonna have to search this one. I knew all about Randy Rhodes, but this guy I don't remember. Interesting.

Oh yeah! Bark at the Moon! Rock n' Roll Rebel! Yeah. We were there. Not there on his debut. But I remember the music.

We got your Jake E Lee debut right
here!

When you say, "They go bald..." are you referring to Backstage Antics?

in the 80's I hated 'hair metal' coming from a punk, hardcore metal background; black flag, (early) metallica, bad brains, etc.

There were few guilty pleasures at the time however, dr. feelgood, bad medicine, etc.

I did, however, like GnR.

compared to todays post rock & nu-metal bands tho I'll take 80's butt rock anyday. The musicianship of a lot of those cats is off the charts compared to todays bands. Something I can admire. Especially the lead guitarists

Current guilty pleasure (from back then) Bang Tango - Breaking Up A Heart Of Stone

80's metal. I grew up listening to it. Everything from Maiden and Priest to Cinderella and RATT. I still prefer it to the crap that passes as hard rock today. Some stuff from the day was too cheesy. Stuff like White Lion or LA Guns, I couldn't take them seriously. They seemed to be going for a look more than being real musicians.

Anyhow, I haven't seen anyone mention
Whitesnake yet. They were one of the best hair bands. Their ballads got way to much airplay, but their other stuff was pretty good. They rocked live too.

Why is Whitsnake even considered hair metal?
Because of one lousy record?
Listen to all their records prior to 1987.
