As per the Ops request again, I have another under 30 guitarist.
It's funny he set that limit. lol
Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Joe Bonamassa are all over 30.
Anyways, here's another kid I think is really good and shows promise like Casey Jones is starting to get now. That first video Casey looks about the same age as Jake does here (14-15). He's in his early or mid 20s now.
There's a ton, but technically difficult guitar music has disappeared from pop/rock for many, many years now. So, you'll have much less kids practicing 12 hours a day trying to be the next Van Halen, Satriani, Vai, or even Jerry Cantrell.
So, many less of those types of guitarists. Most shred is now old music and completely out of the public eye. Just look at the links posted. George Lynch, Crue, Ratt, Winger. LMAO. That music is so old it can rent a car.
But in jazz, blues, and country, the electric guitar still plays a prominent role. So, you'll see great guitar players more in other genres.
So, some guitarists who seek technical and musical progression switch over to jazz. A lot of would be shredders (if this were the 80s) transition into jazz and spend hours a day doing that. That is what I have seen. Country too. Electric guitar is strong in country so a lot of guys there. Blues has been dying somewhat. Not as much as shred, but not nearly as strong as in the past.
Maybe. I feel like there probably are, but I can't say with certainty since there could be some that I'm not aware of.
