Vince Neil lead singer for Motley Crue, drives drunk, hits another car, kills his passenger and seriously injures the 2 people in the other car. Spends a whopping 15 days in jail.

Quote:
In late 1984, Finnish hard rock band Hanoi Rocks was on their second American tour and a first one ever to reach California. The two gigs meant to be held in Los Angeles sold out in twenty minutes. On the day they arrived in Los Angeles, December 8, Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley and the other members of the band (with the exception of singer Michael Monroe, who was recovering from a fractured ankle) visited Neil's home and spent the day at Redondo Beach. After partying for hours, Neil and Razzle decided to take a trip to a local liquor store in Neil's De Tomaso Pantera. Neil, who was drunk, lost control of the car and hit an oncoming vehicle. The two occupants of the other car were seriously injured and suffered brain damage,[28] and Dingley was killed. Neil was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with the crash. His blood alcohol level was 0.17, well above the California legal limit at that time of 0.10.[29] In July 1986, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Edward Hinz, Jr. sentenced Neil to 30 days in jail, five years probation, $2.6 million in restitution to the victims of the crash and 200 hours of community service. Neil got out of jail in 15 days for good behavior; Mötley Crüe dedicated their third studio album, Theatre of Pain, to Razzle.[30]

And how is this more heinous than the murder, arsons, white supremacism, and planned terrorist attacks?

Charles R. Cross would later say that they had Staley's obituary on stand-by at The Rocket in the late 1990s.[13] Upon the retirement of Alice in Chains' manager, Susan Silver, in 1998, The Rocket published an article asking the question "But who's to wipe and change Alice in Chains now?", supposedly a jab at the rumors of Staley's addiction.[13] Joe Ehrbar, the editor of The Rocket at that time, said, "A few days later, we received a package containing a jar of **** and a bag of ****, with a note attached saying, 'Wipe and change this, mother****ers!' It had to be from Layne. What a classic response.'"[13]

It certainly would be heinous if it was Layne. I'm thinking Joe Ehrbar may just be a mark for him though. After all it's not like there was any proof it was Layne. It could've just been a big AIC fan.

Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols arrest for murdering his long time girlfriend Nancy Spungen.

During the brief and chaotic ascendancy of the Sex Pistols, Vicious met eventual girlfriend and manager Nancy Spungen. Spungen and Vicious entered a destructive codependent relationship based on drug use. This culminated in Spungen's death from an apparent stab wound while staying in New York City's Hotel Chelsea with Vicious. Under suspicion of having committed Spungen's murder, Vicious was released on bail; he was later arrested again for assaulting Todd Smith, brother of Patti Smith, at a night club, and underwent drug rehabilitation on Rikers Island. In celebration of Vicious' release from prison, his mother hosted a party for him at his girlfriend's residence in Greenwich Village, which was attended notably by the Misfits bassist Jerry Only.
