Yeah, I love the idea of a more punked-up version of The Pogues.
Instead, DKM is a more Irish version of all the SoCal pop-punk bands that bore me to tears.

I didn't like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at all, until I saw them live.

Funny you should say that, a friend lent me an album of his several years ago and I didn't like it and gave it back. Then he went to see them live and raved about it, I borrowed the album and gave it another chance and never looked back.

I've got pretty much all his albums now, which is saying a lot for me as I don't have hundreds of CDs like some people, and have also seen him live. Love it.

Hehe, each to their own. What I was getting at was more the way Al Barr kind of half shouts the lyrics and how they often have the entire band providing backing vocals at the same time which kind of sound like a bunch of semi-drunk Irish blokes down the pub on a saturday night (listen to 'Sunshine Highway' for a perfect example). Still, I love it.

Seeing Nick Cave live did it for me too. I saw him on the Henry's Dream tour, and while I was marginally a fan before that, I became much more of one afterwards.

I honestly can't think of one that took me a while to like. I do think that there are a lot out that take getting used to for others, though. Examples:

Bjork
Bikini Kill
Sonic Youth
Daft Punk
