You named the better known bass guitarist for the bands. In the case of Parliament may have been Eddie Hazel and for Slave Mark Hicks doing the solo fill underneath the funk bass line.
Edit that Parliament reference, looking at the recording date maybe Michael Hampton on guitar.
The first one that comes to mind was in concert. We saw Lynyrd Skynyrd 1976 in the Summer time last song Free Bird. Awesome ! The intro was a while until Ronnie started singing.
I still think of this concert and that song so special. The entire song was probably about 12 - 15 Min. It was the best !
After Ronnie sang Free Bird the guitar went on just as long if not longer as it did in the intro. Thought we were all going to fly away !
