No. But he seems like a down to earth, decent fella who made a few good rock n roll hits. That itself is something to celebrate. We can't all be Prince and Bowie.
Good point. He brought a lot of light to my life whenever I heard him on the radio. One of many, but he still did it.
Yes, Eddie Money belongs in the Hall of Fame, he was awesome and had a pile of hits. The guy had us Shakin' to the middle of the night. Not Always, because sometimes when I Think I'm In Love, and I wanted to Take her Home Tonight, She said no, Baby Hold On! But yeah, I Wanna Go Back and do it all over, because it was Paradise. Look at all the Paradise songs which sprang off his original 2 tickets, Meatloaf, 38 Special, Phil Collins, Sade, Gun's N Roses, all had great Paradise songs, because Eddie Money led the way, and opened the door to Paradise.
Why is Eddie Money so good? What keeps him going? His secret is the Cool Cool Water. He drinks it everyday.
Eddie Money rocks out, he was a little weak at making videos and his presentation is somewhat cheese-ball at times, like when he made guitar noises with his mouth in Shakin', but his music is top notch. He's a rock icon.
Yeah guns n roses was really inspired by Eddie when they wrote paradise city lol. Actually slash lifted the main riff from a black Sabbath song zero the hero.
Just keep in mind that it's not the "Rock&Roll Hall of Really Good Music", nor is it the "Rock&Roll Hall of the Most Influential Musicians", it's the "Rock&Roll Hall of FAME".
The single most important criterion for induction is FAME. Sure, there are other factors, but by far, the most important is FAME.

This comes directly from the Hall's website, take it for what it's worth:
"Besides demonstrating unquestionable musical excellence and talent, inductees will have had a significant impact on the development, evolution and preservation of rock & roll."
I have nothing against Eddie Money and think he has some decent tunes, but I don't know that he meets those standards. Did he impact the development of rock & roll? I would say no. The evolution of rock & roll? I don't think anyone would argue he did anything evolutionary. Preservation? Maybe.
That said, I'm of the camp who thinks the Hall is a big joke anyway.
I am stunned to find out that Jimi Hendrix isn't in the Hall. And if Jimi isn't in, then I can't support Eddie for the Hall either. But he's had a heck of a career.

That surprises me because Jimi Hendrix was so influential with the quitar, he played it with his tongue for cripes sakes, what more do they want ?
Another which comes to mind before Eddie Money, is ELO, Jeff Lynne is a genius of music composition, his music is very complex. The Cars just made it in there last year, Steely Dan did not make it in there until 2001. Damn, they sure are picky, lol.

Jimi is in with The Experience, just not as a solo artist.
I work at a country club when he was supposedly drying out. He would gives us $100 tips as a bribe to get him alcohol. It never worked.
His manager was with him and knew he was doing it!
That's why he calls himself the money man.
