Dear Readers,
I am in the process of making a presentation about world hatred and violence. I am making it to show people the pain and fear that these victims experience and to encourage people to stand up against this terrible crime that is, unfortunately, growing. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for a song that would fit the following criteria to play in the background for my presentation.

1. Very slow, sorrowful sounding.
2. Preferably new age.
3. No use of "worded" vocals, instead maybe some foreign or abstract vocals. In other words, vocals without lyrics.

P.S. I want to thank you in advance for any suggestions and/or comments that you may have for me. -mmccul

are you open to manipulating the sound yourself... getting a song, and slowing it way down... I use to do that for some artsy friends myself... you could see if you could find a freeware or demo, sound program to do it on your own if you wanted... : ponders :

No good ideas for you but your request reminded me of this fabulous video:

YouTube - You've Got To Be Carefully Taught/Children Will Listen

Perhaps you can get a karaoke version of either song?

I cant think of any music without lyrics. Maybe a tune so well known that it needs no words for people to sing along but I suspect that will also be quite the challenge.

I will throw a couple relevant songs at you having to do with love, hate and getting along.

Def Leppard......When Love and Hate Collide.
Blessid Union of Souls......I Believe (I love this song)
Genesis........Blood on the Rooftops
Boxtops........The Letter
Louie Armstrong......What a Wonderful World (awesome)
Simon and Garfunkle......Bridge over Troubled Water
Hollies......He ain't heavy, hes my Brother
Eve of Destruction.......Barry McGuire
Whiter Shade of Pale.....Procol Harem
Abraham Martin & John.....Dion (this always fits the situation)
Where have all the Flowers gone.....Joan Baez
Silence is Golden.....The Tremeloes

If Im on the right track and if these dont help I can come up with more. Us old hippys lived for music dealing with love, hate, war and anti this and that.
