She's an entertainer. There doesn't have to be any purpose or meaning behind whatever weird stuff they wear.

I think it's more "people who are entertained by how strange she is." She isn't quite the usual pop star.

And I guess that's where I disagree. There have been numerous "look how strange I am" pop acts throughout the ages. The way people praise her "unique" personal style, you'd think it were Ziggy Stardust all over again. And it kind of is -- in that it's been done before.
