i thank you both for your replies. They were both enlightening and made me feel a bit ignorant of the whole situation. True i really cant empathise with anything regarding the culture over there as i have never been. but i would have never thought- with a common thread of metal- that peoples worlds could be so far apart...again feelin' a little ignorant. Obviously i have no idea how it is over there...i've loved this music ever since i discovered it for myself 26 years ago i'm not into it for anything other than true passion and love of it-but it is obviously on a whole other level over there
i like to think i'm a pretty humble and down to earth person but i'm sure whenever i make it over there for a festival ...my eyes will be opened even further...this is just more proof that we never stop learning...well guys sorry for the rambling and thanks again
Mr. BrooksinDenver.... ramble all you want Sir. Your question flushed out answers that were educational and compelling. This one learned a lot and have Thee to thank for it... bright smile... so... Thank Thee for asking the question...
... and Thank Thee Mr. G and Sir MMC for answering such a question with respect and thoughfulness. One can get use to the sarcasm often displayed or arrogance barely veiled that general keeps topics superficial... it is refreshing to be among genuine lovers of a Genre where such displays aren't necessary and all gain benefit from what is offered....
... curtsey to the Gentlemen... therefore ... Thank Thee...
I've always felt that Saxon are an underrated band. Yeah they put out some stinkers in the 80's. Had messy lineup changes (There's two Saxons ) and they never could reach the same heights as their NWOBHM contemporaries... But despite all that! They've stuck around and are still a very good band.
Ms. Amanda! Remember them? heck yea!

Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath (bassist) created

for More Kombat called "Outworld" with vocalist
Mario Frasca (Anger on Anger) ...

Grave Digger are also fairly underrated. They started off in the 80's, doing straight rowdy Teutonic heavy metal. But over the last few years, have come to put out some excellent themed Albums.
