Kelly's version did not touch the original. Then Lil Mo re-did SM's 'Husband'- trash!

I like the way Mary J did Stevie Wonder's 'Overjoyed' and Chaka's 'Sweet Thing'. I love Mary's voice.

Although I like Chaka's better. But I agree Mary did a VERY good job with Sweet Thing.

Hmm in my opinion I would say it would be because you already know its been made.I mean Thin Lizzy made the song famous, although it was famous in Ireland already as a folk song but Thin Lizzy made it famous worldwide, then Metallica decided to cover it.

The song Funky Town just kept getting better each time it was recorded. It is almost magic.

First there was
YouTube - Lipps Inc - Funkytown

Then came
YouTube - Pseudo Echo - Funky Town

And it finally culminated in
YouTube - Alvin & The Chipmunks - Funky Town.

Fantastic song and performances.

I've got you all beat. Prepare to award me the toaster oven....

Johnny Cash's cover of "Personal Jesus." It takes Depeche Mode's overly-sly, electronica-ridden, heavy-handed, and forgettable ditty into a simple, wrenching and sincere statement. Just unforgettable to hear.
