HBO used to use short films as filler in the time before 24/7 programming. I think this was the earliest video I saw though I had heard about Michael Nesmith's "Elephant Parts".

The first video that I can remember seeing is this one from country singer Tanya Tucker in 1987 I believe when I was just five years old.
