Since I can't edit tonight I have to post this. The band is New American Shame and they have a AC/DC ---- ZZ Top kind of style to them. I like them and they have some albums out but I don't think they hit it as big as they should have. Rugged
after high school I spent a yr or so living in Philly with my Uncle, while I was there all of the buzz was about the Hooters, they were still a local band then, and they had quite a following. I purchased a cassette, that they released in 1983, and they had a terrific sound.
In 1985, the Hooters released "Nervous Night", and it had many of the same songs on it that my 1983 tape had, but they slowed everything down, and they weren't nearly as good. They got some bad advice some where.

My choice would be Blessid Union of Souls. Here is their tribute powerful ballad to the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Blessid Union of Souls did find some success in their home state Ohio's radio stations but they probably had poor PR people.
I did get to see them in an outdoor concert in 2006.
This was a major hit that got a fair amount of airplay:

Only their first LP. They had one hit "Jim Dandy" (not a part of the LP) that made it into the charts at a modest position. But that song (it sucked maggots) was not anything like the music on that first LP. Maybe it was a matter of bad management.
