Hey Grandma G! I won't send Gramps to the hospital
from us listenin to speed Metal and his blood
pressure went up to high cause I got a lot of work
to do today!!! he can listen to Drone
Metal to calm down, right Gramps G!

: puffin out chest cause I'm lookin out for
everybody's health!:

Gramps... I was talkin to shyangel and we were talkin
about how the old folks except you can't even relate to
what they felt in the 60s and use it to relate to us now...

check it out... they liked a music that their parents' emotional
landscape didn't have a way into... yall had protest songs
that seemed crazy to parents... we have death growls that
sound like what kids hear when they've been medicated most
of their life...

voices sound like that but nobody ever asked what voices sound
like to medicated kids... what electronic buzz sound like to
medicated kids... why maybe autistic kids stay inside because
sounds, sound like heavy metal to their ears...

that we're sensitive to war like the kids in the 60s were, so
our Metal reflect that... anyway... I gotta go but I'm talkin
to you cause it seems you understand our feelin landscape
in 2009 and ain't interested in definin it for us but ASKIN
us what it's about and listenin to the answers we give...

Ok Gramps... check this out... and its not fast I think to
give Grandma G a heart attack... haaaaahaaaha!!
It IS fast though... Hey Grandma G!

You can help Gramps find some real drone like
Sunn O))) .... yeaaap thats a real name!

First an interview to hip you to the band Gramps!

Bolt Thrower "Cenotaph + Interview"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RCizYwLL-E

ok here's the song in full!

Bolt Thrower - Cenotaph

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxMJDTJXleI

Hey! I think old people and teenagers are cool if they
both love Metal!!!

Runnin off to git that room! Too bad it don't
have a comp in it ( prolly cause some fool was
doin a lot of porn...) but I can claim it and after
a couple hours keep a claim and go use a comp
without losin the room!

Cya Everybody!! I'm gonna check out more of that
Norwegian group! Also Thanks Everybody for the
aWESOME Metal!

:runnin back in... got a kid's comp for 2 minutes
since I let him use MY room! Haaaahaahaaha! :

Default Hawkwind - Hassan I Sahba, HP Lovecraft - At The Mountains Of Madness, Sunn O))) - Báthory Erzsébet

: gruff laughter at Mommy's and Jim's efforts to expand
our shyangel's awareness regarding other beaus... :

... ahhh shyangel... proof of Family Love... maybe a pair of
pants would soothe things for shared/common areas?
: Eyes twinkle :

: Puffs pipe... rocking... nodding to Jim... leans forward :

Drone Metal creates the atmosphere to experience feelings...
quite a different purpose for why most listen to music... which
is to express what's already felt, not to create an atmosphere
to receive something that isn't already within...

Drone in my day would be considered a category of music used
for "a happening" experience... again to CREATE the atmosphere
for a happening, not for the music itself to BE the happening...
just to facilitate it...

So I understand what you kids are saying... yes.

Let me show you some examples of how "Drone" was expressed
in my day : Smile :

Hawkwind - Hassan I Sahba (Assassins of Allah)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6mxOeoG730

(Lyrics can be found on Youtube)

There was also an author of horror who fascinated many
regarding the human mind's efforts to define an alien universe
called "reality"... a band took on his name...

HP Lovecraft - At The Mountains Of Madness

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHxuWBzBbpw

so I'll listen to Sunn o))) from this perspective.

( Regarding over-medication of children and sensory
experiences, unfortunately you and shyangel are correct.
Young children and animals are sensitive in ways adults
generally are encouraged to outgrow, ignore, or leave behind,
prefering rationality to emotionally honesty in many cases.)

I will always welcome young people's candid points
of view regarding their experiences in the world today.

And now let's see how long Gramps G can tolerate
"Drone" Metal ...

: Gruff chuckle : what feelings surface and are experienced
from listening...

Sunn O))) - Báthory Erzsébet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG97k6DMNVM

Much like viewing a horror film... it is the music which creates
the atmosphere; turn down the volume and watch the movie
with captions only; the scary parts become anti-climactic.

Atmospheric expression to create or arouse
feelings is the experience Drone Metal gives.
Thank you for explaining that.

(Also, a major difference is that in my day drugs were
used to facilitate the experience... in 2009 that experience
is accessed through the music itself.)

My conclusion is... Drone might not lower my blood pressure
however, I thank you Jim and shyangel for the "Trip"
: Gruff chuckle :

auntie screeching :: NO! for all that's sacred not the Jonas Brothers :: MY EYES, MY EARS

we must find better compromise for shyangel though without makeup MM not bad looking and he is quite intelligent. So here's my choices :: laughing and winking at DW ::

so since we talking about cute singers and getting a bit away from metal :: chuckling :: here's some eye candy with good songs, just not metal per se LOL

Default Black Tide - Show Me the Way, Gojira - Embrace the World (French), Unearth - My Will be Done

: wakes up... looks around... listens to the conversation...
looks at the menfolk :

We Menfolk can't avoid women's attraction to Metal Men or cute
men and their talking about it so my advice of 100 years is to
let them be!

:Gruff Laughter:

All righty Jim... here's a variety of bands you might enjoy with
Gramps! : Wink:

Black Tide - Show Me the Way
(Album 2008 Light From Above) American

Gojira - Embrace the World (French)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vDSThxlIVc

Unearth - My Will be Done - American

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuE8rxbUjpQ

Lyrics: (Complete on Youtube)

So many, have lost their way
So many have fallen to their grip of faith
Controlled by their words of hate
Divided, we ravage, our homelands

The abundance of numbness, can claim self rule
Diseased, transmission, can claim us all

A system of panic, enslaves
The binding, obtainment brings darker days
A stand must be taken, to save
No cries for us, the war is waged
It's done

....I strive to find my way
My Will be done

: rocks .. tapping foot... puffing pipe in
rhythm:

No calcified bones in this thread! : Gruff Laughter:

Default Rebirthing/Never Surrender/Awake and Alive

Doing my own homework, and discovering new music....my mission....to explore strange new worlds...to seek out new life and new civilizations...to boldly go...where no Mom has gone before.........

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7keWk4nt0fs
Rebirthing now
I wanna live for love, wanna live for you and me
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

Rebirthing now
I wanna live my life, wanna give you everything
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI3D6SVLfYs

Do you know what it's like when
You're not who you wanna be?
Do you know what it's like to
Be your own worst enemy
Who sees the things in me I can't hide?

Do you know what it's like
To wanna surrender?

I don't wanna feel like this tomorrow
I don't wanna live like this today
Make me feel better, I wanna feel better
Stay with me here now and never surrender

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91J4PAda3EA

I’m at war with the world cause I
Ain’t never gonna sell my soul
I’ve already made up my mind
No matter what I can’t be bought or sold

When my faith is getting weak
And I feel like giving in
You breathe into me again
