David Bowie is my #1. I have been following his career since the early 70's. He's a brilliant musician. I have been to so many of his shows, yes shows, I won't even call them concerts, they are all a show all in themselves. I was growing up from my late teens until my early 20's. I can't tell you how many tours David Bowie performed in Boston!! The Music Hall and the Orphium were the best plasces to go for the acustic sounds they were so fantastic and you could hear his wonderful voice so much better. Even though I also went to then call Boston Garden, now The Garden, it was still awesome to see him.
I have all his CD's. One of my most favorites CD's is Changes with the most romantic song David has ever sang: "Wild is the Wind". I also love "Heathen". His talent will never end.
I grew up in the best of times. I saw all the greats, all the tiime!

Reason: Left out a TY
This is the title track from his 1983 album "Lets Dance". The video was filmed in Australia and was a social commentary on the clash of cultures in this country between the indigenous people and the influx of European culture.
YouTube - A live history Bowie
Over the decades, Bowie morphed from Ziggy Stardust to Aladdin Sane to the facist Thin White Duke to a hard-rockin' straight guy. Through it all he managed to keep his mind(and his bank book) intact. In 1997 Bowie was heralded as Britain's richest pop star, worth $919 million. Who says it doesn't pay to wear spandex? Bowie first declared himself a homosexual in 1972. Then in the 1980's, he denied it. Finally, Bowie admitted to what he really was- a trisexual. Explained Bowie, I'll try anything once.
Oh, Bowie!
I feel ashamed of myself about becoming a fan of David at the age of 32, a couple of months ago. I should have been a fan since my teens!
I ve always loved music and since my teens i loved bands such as Radiohead, Beatles, Queen, Pixies, Pavement, Pulp, nirvana, pink floyd, clapton, etc, but somehow i missed bowie? How can THAT happen? Of course i knew Bowie, and some of his songs, and used to watch labrynth a lot as a child in the 90s, but somehow i had bowie pegged as this weirdo and never started seriously listening to his songs all together until 4 or 5 months ago where i found a youtube list of 40 or 50 of his songs and i was like....WTF
he was like a perfect mix of all my favourite bands, the best part of every one of them. I became INSTANTLY obsessed. Every song was an instant classic. I was in awe.
Dont get me wrong, i knew bowies existence (hes a legend after all) and have listened to many of his songs before, most of the time not knowing this or that song was his. In any case, when i dtarted actually paying attention to the music, i became instantly hooked!
So im a fan! A huge fan of bowie! I know its kinda late but i dont care: im his forever#!
