I'm really into the Doowop sound, the term doowop was originally termed by Alan Freed from NYC...........now some of the best sounds came out of NY,
Philly.........The Bronx had some great groups, of course Dion is the King of the Bronx......The Chantels, The Regents, The 5 Sharks, The Zircons
Larry Chance and the Earls, The Excellents, Lillian Leach, and out of NYC
Earl Lewis and the Channels, The Valatines, Johnny Maestro and the Crests
Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, Louis Lymon and the Teenchords
The Fascinators, Five Disc, The Eternals, The Jesters, The Paragon, The Innocents girl group from the Bronx, NY still going strong after 45 yrs
on the oldies circuit.
Some of the best music came out in the early 60's.........Be My Baby,
He's a Rebel, My Guy, Just One Look, Just to Be With You, Angel Baby
soooooooo many great songs. I'm stuck in the 60's and loving it.
Visvaldis! Good post on Eric Burdon/War on Black Man's Burden . It charted one single-They can't take away our music; sadly it did not go too high. Actually, the real gem is the Moody Blues version of Nights In White Satin- solid!!
*** is an offensive word towards Italian Americans.
The word "wop" is an insult toward Italians. A few of my former girls were Italian. They had the dirty blonde hair, beautiful bodies, and usually smiled. I would love to say that to their faces. Another word is "****." "****" is more commonplace. I learned that word from parents when they were talking about parts of Chicago. Now, a lot of them are occupied by "beaners."

I'm looking for the name of a 60's group that did a song called "There'll never be another you". The lead singer is female. It's a great song on a good album. Thanks in advance.
