Considering a move to North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach. However, since both hubby and I are on Medicare, I'm wondering if the ACA has affected whether or not doctors, in general, are either retiring or not taking on new patients who are on Medicare in either of these two areas.
I've read and heard so much about doctors who are not only not accepting new patients, but are cutting free existing patients or they are no longer accepting any insurance plans or even going to work in a hospital and will no longer see patients. Just trying to get a feel for what's happening, if anything, in our favorite spot in the US.
Really would appreciate hearing from anyone who's had a recent experience, good or bad, in this scenario!
Wow 94 views on the post and no answers the the original poster. Anyone down there on Medicare?? I'm interested in Seasons at Prince Creek and this would also be one of my concerns.
As this is largely a retirement community doctors would put themselves out of business if they stopped taking Medicare patients. I'm sure there may be individual older docs who may consider retiring but I doubt it really has anything to do with ACA. Having recently reviewed Medicare Supplement Plans for next year the one thing I did notice is that some specialists will not accept any of the Medicare Advantage Plans. But they do accept the traditional Supplements.
