My brother (63) and sister (67) are coming to visit mid week, mid January. I am renting for the month of January and golfing, they are not golfers. They already from Long Island, NY and have never been to MB. What can I do with them this time of year?

Everything but swimming. Weather can be beautiful most days (sunny, 50’s). Not sure where on the Grand Strand you will be staying. On the south end spend an afternoon at Brookgreen Gardens. Go to Pawleys Island Hammock Shops. Stroll on the Marsh Walk and have lunch at one of the restaurants there. Go across the street to Lazy Gator. Lots of fun shopping there, even just perusing. Up a little on the coast you have the boardwalk and of course the sky wheel. Walk on the beach. Market Common has shops and restaurants. Miniature golfing is everywhere even for non golfers. Go to Broadway at the beach. Lots of shops, restaurants. Further north there’s Barefoot Landing. You can spend hours walking, shopping and eating. Further north go to NC to the winery La Belle Amie. It’s just over the border of SC. Another fun store is Callahans of Calabash with an excellent restaurant just next door. In NMB check to see if there’s anything going on in Jan on Main Street. I know spring, summer and fall there’s all kinds of festivals.
Take a day trip 2 hours each way) to Charleston. A carriage ride followed by a stroll through the market and a late lunch will have you back home early evening. Go into Southport NC. Beautiful town, beach, pier, shops and dining. Or Wilmington.
Lots to do. What are their interests?

Besides the good info above go to the Carolina Oprey or Alabama Theater for a show.

Check out Duplin Winery near Barefoot landing for a wine tasting

Walk around the shops in Georgetown

If they are staying for a bit (like a week) take a trip down to Charleston.
