Thinking of moving to Myrtle Beach, Murrells inlet, Pawleys Island area
Hello, I am thinking of relocating to the Myrtle Beach area. I am a single male in my mid thirties with no children. I actually have never been to Myrtle Beach but have lived in Charleston for 7 years and all up and down the east coast. I was wondering if their were alot of single professionals in the area or mainly families and college aged kids? Just looking for something new and want to stay in the South Carolina/Georgia coastal region. I work in healthcare so I am not worried about the job market. Just wondering if it is a nice area and if there are single professionals around. The whole touristy feel would not bother me and I am a southerner so there would be no culture shock. Just want to be close to the beach and I LOVE seafood. Thanks

I know a lot of single people that live here and enjoy it. There is so much to do, including beach and nightlife. Good luck with your decision.

If you are looking for a really nice place to call home, then Pawleys & MI are just what the doctor ordered. Coincidentally, I just had a discussion with a female friend about dating & the availability of singles in the Pawleys area. She was relaying how difficult it was because the area is pretty small & everyone pretty much knows each other, especially after you've been in town for a few years. She is in her late 30's. There are a few bars where people seem to hang out & hook up but I think if you want to find more variety you'd have to travel up to Myrtle Beach.
I think you would be fine along the Grand Strand especially if you are looking for a laid back, easy going lifestyle. If you want something more vamped up.... have you considered the outskirts of Charleston?

If I could move back and make decent money, I'd be on my way. I loved it.

Hello There! Don't know if you have made your decision or not but thought I would reply. I moved to Pawleys Island from Arizona about 1 1/2 years ago. Pawleys is a great place to relax but if you are looking to meet other people your age, it is not the place you would want to go to probably. I moved up to Murrells Inlet. It is a great in-between place. If you don't want to be in the heart of Myrtle Beach but still want to go out and mingle up there. Everyone is friendly in Murrells Inlet, and there are places that "us" single folk in our thirties hang out. Either place though is a great place to relocate to. Good Luck with your move.
