Blackman High still well over 2000 kids even after Stewarts Creek opens...Riverdale at nearly 2000 again after the rezoning to some to Blackman a few years ago. The expansion at Eagleville was completed but will there be a high school out near Rockvale Middle to take some of the future student populations of Blackman, Riverdale and Eagleville? The new high school in Nolensville should help out future crowding in Williamson but Rutherford is still maxing out the high schools even after mega-sized Stewarts Creek opened.

Local schools bursting at the seams

That's what happens when you're the fastest-growing county in the state.

When I was at Mt. Juliet HS the student enrollment topped out at around 2,600 in 2001 IIRC. The only reason I remember that is because that was right when a large chunk of the students were moved to the opening Wilson Central HS for the 2001-2002 year. The school built a freshman class building that was just referred to at the time as "the annex" because the main building was so crowded. My sophomore year (last year before WCHS opened) was brutal.

Rockvale would make the most sense due to proximity to fast growing West Murfreesboro. Blackman would see the most impact if the school were built there, but the county is also looking at land in the Buchanan area for a new high school. Riverdale has plenty of room for an expansion, if needed.

I thought Riverdale was land-locked...which is why they had like 20 portables in back at one time. - ?

Or could they build where the portables would be?
